Explore Zone
A light-filled space for hands-on discovery, construction, experimentation and creative thinking.

Nature, movement, animals, water, real-life experiences and purposeful spaces come together to create an early-years environment designed for curiosity, independence and connection.
At Beginnings, the environment is designed to give children room to move, observe, explore, care, create and practise independence. The goal is not to fill every moment with instruction, but to create spaces that invite purposeful engagement.
Our Forest Montessori identity reflects the relationship between prepared indoor environments and meaningful experiences outdoors.

Outdoor spaces give children room for movement, observation, open-ended exploration and quieter moments of connection with the natural world.
Peacocks, ducks and chickens are also part of the Beginnings environment. With guidance, children can help feed them, observe their behaviour and collect eggs from the chickens—simple real-life responsibilities that support respect, patience and care for living things.
Space to move. Space to notice. Space to repeat, investigate, care, create and make meaningful choices.

Sand, water and sensory experiences invite children to pour, build, compare, move, repeat, imagine and problem-solve in ways that feel natural to early childhood.
Our Dry Deck Water Fountain & Splash Zone adds another joyful outdoor experience where movement, coordination, cause and effect, confidence and discovery can unfold through play.

Practical-life areas, supervised kitchen experiences, workshop-style spaces and prepared Montessori environments give children opportunities to practise coordination, concentration, care, contribution and independence.
The detail of how these experiences are introduced stays within the classroom and our conversations with families.
